Softball Preview: South Portland Red Riots vs. Marshwood Hawks
The South Portland Red Riots will head out on the road to take on the Marshwood Hawks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. South Portland is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
South Portland stacked a third blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. Everything went their way against Deering as South Portland made off with a 22-2 win.
Andrea DiMauro was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. DiMauro was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-3 with four RBI and a double.
In other batting news, Ella Nickerson was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Phoebe Dodge, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, Marshwood had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over Kennebunk last Thursday.
