Softball Recap: Waldron Mohawks vs. Edinburgh Lancers

Waldron extended their losing streak to 13 on Thursday, dropping them down to 5-14. They came up short against the Edinburgh Lancers, falling 17-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-3 on Thursday.

As for Edinburgh, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by seven runs or more this season.

For Edinburgh's part, Chloe Hancock made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Hancock a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Edinburgh got a massive performance out of Adalyn Ramey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most doubles Ramey has posted since back in April. Brylynn Dora was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Waldron does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Edinburgh, they will challenge Tri at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lancers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
