Tippecanoe Valley starts season with victory against Northfield

Tippecanoe Valley took care of business in their home opener on Monday (barely). They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Northfield Norsemen and snuck past 8-6. That's more bragging rights for Tippecanoe Valley, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Cameron Manuel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Manuel was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Durkes, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
