Basketball Recap: Isac Amell's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Port Allegany over Clarion-Limestone

On Friday, the Port Allegany Gators came up short against the Clarion-Limestone Lions and fell 63-53. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Port Allegany lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Isac Amell, who en route to 15 points and eight rebounds. Jarrod Funk was another key player, on his way to 14 points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Port Allegany was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They racked up six more assists than Clarion-Limestone's also-impressive total of ten.

Jase Ferguson was his usual excellent self, to rack up 32 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds for Clarion-Limestone. Those 32 points gave Ferguson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jesse Siwiecki, who posted ten points.

Port Allegany's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Clarion-Limestone, their win bumped their record up to 15-9.

Port Allegany does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clarion-Limestone, they will face off against Redbank Valley at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Redbank Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 16 contests.
