Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Atascadero). They blew past the Garfield Bulldogs 14-6 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Greyhounds, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.
Atascadero got a great performance from Wyatt Azelton as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched.
At the plate, Evan Churchill was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Weston Witt, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
Atascadero always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .521. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
