Softball Recap: Speedway Takes a Loss

Speedway fell victim to Triton Central and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 6-0. The match marked the first time this year in which the Sparkplugs were not able to get on the board.

Speedway saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mallory Short, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Speedway and nudges their season record down to 5-9. As for Triton Central, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Speedway does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Triton Central, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against Monrovia on the 22nd.
