Soccer Game Preview: East Surry vs. Alleghany

The East Surry Cardinals are taking a road trip to square off against the Alleghany Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Surry is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Cardinals two weeks ago. East Surry put the hurt on East Wilkes with a sharp 5-1 win. That's two games straight that East Surry has won by exactly four goals.

Meanwhile, Alleghany came up short against North Surry on Monday, falling 5-1. The Trojans have struggled against the Greyhounds recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

East Surry pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three contests. As for Alleghany, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3-1.

Everything went East Surry's way against Alleghany in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as East Surry made off with a 6-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Surry since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
