Basketball Game Preview: St. Francis Borgia Knights vs. Hermann Bearcats

St. Francis Borgia hasn't had much luck against Hermann recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. After both having extra time off, both will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. St. Francis Borgia's defense has only allowed 29.4 points per game this season, so Hermann's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Two weeks ago, St. Francis Borgia was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 49-43 to St. James. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Tigers are ranked 59th).

Meanwhile, Hermann came up short against Keokuk last Saturday and fell 60-53. The Bearcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Francis Borgia's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-2. As for Hermann, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Things could have been worse for St. Francis Borgia, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-33 loss to Hermann in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can St. Francis Borgia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
