Baseball Game Preview: Salem Witches vs. Beverly Panthers

The Salem Witches will head out on the road to challenge the Beverly Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Salem's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Beverly's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Thursday, Salem didn't have quite enough to beat Gloucester and fell 4-3.

Rocco Ryan put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. That one earned run gave him a new career-low. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Ryan wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jack Tsoutsouras, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Beverly owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Danvers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Beverly, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Salem skirted past Beverly 10-9 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Witches since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
