Lago Vista had already won 15 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it 16 on Friday. They blew past Canyon Lake 8-2. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 13-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Winter Callahan was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Audrey Ferguson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Sydney Mosser was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Lago Vista's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-9. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.5 runs over those games. As for Canyon Lake, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.
