Basketball Recap: Satanta Takes a Loss

If Satanta was riding high fresh off their 66-34 takedown of Rolla last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Satanta Indians fell 50-41 to the Moscow Wildcats on Saturday. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the loss, Satanta still got an impressive performance from Yahaira Puerto, who posted 21 points and three steals. That was a full 51.2% of Satanta's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Satanta's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Moscow, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Satanta will host Minneola at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Minneola's defense has only allowed 27.8 points per game this season, so Satanta's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Moscow, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Rolla. Moscow is facing Rolla at the right time seeing as Rolla is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
