Baseball Recap: Rutgers Prep Comes Up Short

Rutgers Prep fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Somerville on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 8-7. It was the first time this season that the Argonauts let down their fans at home.

Ethan Nepomuceno was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Matt Bilmes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Rutgers Prep is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-7. As for Somerville, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Looking ahead, Rutgers Prep will head out to take on Montgomery at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Somerville, they will square off against Hillsborough at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
