Baseball Recap: Liberal Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Liberal came out on top against Garden City on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run sixth inning. The Redskins skirted past the Buffaloes 9-8. This was a revenge game for the Redskins: when they faced off against the Buffaloes on April 1st, they had to take a 7-3 loss.

Kye Morris and Alexander Schwindt did most of the damage at the plate: Morris went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Schwindt went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was Schwindt's first of the season. Ethan Olmstead was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Liberal's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-8. As for Garden City, they dropped their record down to 4-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberal will head out to take on Cimarron at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The last four games the Bluejays have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Garden City, they will venture away from home to face off against Dodge City at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
