Basketball Recap: St. Mark's Lions vs. Liberty Christian Warriors

St. Mark gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past the Liberty Christian Warriors 80-47. The Lions pushed the score to 64-35 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors had little chance of recovering from.

Despite the defeat, Liberty Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Patrick Jameson shot 71% from the field on his way to 13 points. Those 71% field goal percentage set a new season-high mark for Jameson. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Thompson, who posted nine points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Liberty Christian fell to 3-1.

Looking ahead, St. Mark's will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Roosevelt at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Liberty Christian, they will square off against Greenhill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
