Basketball Recap: Pickett County's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Pickett County entered their tilt with Clay County on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Clay County Bulldogs, posting a 59-31 victory. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 26 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pickett County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cole Amonett, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathaniel Cobb, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

Pickett County has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for Clay County, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4.

Pickett County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-35 win against South Pittsburg on the 1st. As for Clay County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 73-48 victory against Monterey on the 31st.
