Samson hadn't done well against Kinston recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 44-41. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Leading Samson to victory were Brodi Mock and Ben McKenzie. Mock posted 14 points and four steals, while McKenzie dropped a double-double with ten points and 15 boards. That's the most steals Mock has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tyler Lamb, who scored nine points and six rebounds.

Samson's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Kinston, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
