Recap: Ascend Leadership Aviators vs. Triangle Math & Science Tigers
The Ascend Leadership Aviators's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Triangle Math & Science 64-18. Ascend Leadership was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-8.
Triangle Math & Science was led to victory by Samrita Sriram and Leanna Nohs. Sriram scored 20 points along with three steals and two blocks, while Nohs scored 33 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nohs has scored all season. Yashitha Vanamala was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight assists and four steals.
Ascend Leadership's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Triangle Math & Science, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Ascend Leadership will be playing at home against Chatham Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chatham Charter is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Triangle Math & Science, they will face off against Clover Garden School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Clover Garden School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Wednesday.
