Basketball Recap: Xavier Allen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Milwaukee Lutheran over Whitnall

Milwaukee Lutheran lost against Whitnall back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Milwaukee Lutheran Red Knights fell just short of the Whitnall Falcons by a score of 72-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (67), the Red Knights still had to take the loss.

Milwaukee Lutheran lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Xavier Allen, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 22 points. Allen is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Makhai Jewell was another key player, going 9 for 16 on his way to 20 points.

Milwaukee Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Whitnall, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Milwaukee Lutheran will venture away from home to take on Lake Country Lutheran at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lake Country Lutheran's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Whitnall, they will head out to challenge St. Thomas More at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitnall has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
