Baseball Recap: Santa Ynez Has No Trouble Against Orcutt Academy

Santa Ynez's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Orcutt Academy Spartans as they made off with a 25-1 win. With that victory, the Pirates brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Jaxon Glover was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, eight RBI, and three runs. Those five hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elijah Roberts, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Santa Ynez kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win got Santa Ynez back to even at 10-10. As for Orcutt Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Santa Ynez will have a chance to go back-to-back against Orcutt Academy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
