Basketball Recap: Walnut Grove Takes a Loss

Walnut Grove was the 40-35 winner over Eastside when they last played one another back in February of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Walnut Grove Warriors fell 42-30 to the Eastside Eagles on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 448th, while the Eagles are ranked 146th).

Walnut Grove's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Eastside, they moved to 9-8 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walnut Grove will welcome North Oconee at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Oconee will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Walnut Grove surely won't give up without a fight. As for Eastside, they will challenge Madison County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Madison County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Eastside likes a good challenge.
