Basketball Recap: Little Cypress-Mauriceville's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

Little Cypress-Mauriceville won the last time they faced West Orange-Stark and things went their way on Friday too. The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears enjoyed a cozy 39-22 win over the West Orange-Stark Mustangs. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 440th, while the Mustangs are ranked 1287th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville's victory bumped their record up to 23-8. As for West Orange-Stark, they dropped their record down to 1-20 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Little Cypress-Mauriceville has already played their next match (against Vidor), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
