Baseball Game Preview: Blue Valley Rams vs. Doniphan West Mustangs

The Blue Valley Rams will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Doniphan West Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Blue Valley came up short against Republic County and fell 12-8.

Blue Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Koy Williams, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Doniphan West). Everything went their way against Frankfort on Monday as Doniphan West made off with an 18-8 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Mustangs with their most commanding win of the season.

Cooper Eberly and Kolter Peterson did most of the damage at the plate: Eberly scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Peterson scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Eberly is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Brett Heim, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Doniphan West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Blue Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Doniphan West, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
