Softball Recap: La Salle Wins Going Away Against Pomona Catholic

La Salle's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Pomona Catholic Pacers a 17-0 shutout. That looming 17-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lancers yet this season.

Olivia Ferrari made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Layla Loya was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Aria Davis was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

La Salle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

La Salle's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-3. As for Pomona Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, La Salle will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pomona Catholic, they will head out to take on St. Genevieve at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
