Softball Recap: Mitchell Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Mitchell kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Patton Panthers, falling 20-2. The Mountaineers were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in March of 2017.

Mitchell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zaiden Ayers, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

The win got Patton back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Mitchell will face off against Hendersonville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Patton, they will challenge West Caldwell at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
