Basketball Recap: Ryas Ferguson Key Part of Team Effort in Falcons Win

The North Carolina Leadership Academy won the last time they faced Morehead and things went their way on Friday too. The Falcons came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 65-53. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

The North Carolina Leadership Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryas Ferguson led the charge by dropping a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. Those ten boards gave Ferguson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Ryker, who went 6-for-12 en route to 18 points and three blocks.

The North Carolina Leadership Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

The North Carolina Leadership Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Morehead, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, The North Carolina Leadership Academy will head out to take on Mount Airy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Morehead, they will be home for the holidays to greet Martinsville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
