Baseball Game Preview: GMG Wolverines vs. BCLUW Comets

The GMG Wolverines will venture away from home to square off against the BCLUW Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

GMG took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against North Tama, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wolverines came out on top in a nail-biter against the Redhawks on Friday, sneaking past 7-6.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask BCLUW). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Colo-NESCO a 20-0 shutout on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Comets, who have now won three games in a row.

BCLUW's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.3 runs over those games. As for GMG, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.

GMG might still be hurting after the 11-4 defeat they got from BCLUW when the teams last played back in May. Can the Wolverines avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
