Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Amanda Elzy). They enjoyed a cozy 53-39 win over the Leflore County Tigers on Thursday. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 68-40 loss the last time these two teams met.

Leading Amanda Elzy to victory were Derek Parker and Demarcus Brown. Parker went 6-for-15 to rack up 20 points in addition to eight assists and six rebounds, while Brown shot 40% from the field on his way to 20 points along with seven boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrick Doss, who posted four points and five rebounds.

Amanda Elzy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Amanda Elzy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Leflore County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
