Volleyball Recap: Anthem Prep's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home + How To Watch

After flying high against Salome on Friday, Anthem Prep came back down to earth. The Eagles fell just short of the North Phoenix Preparatory Academy Gladiators by a score of 3-2 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Gladiators this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-0 loss on Tuesday.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Anthem Prep sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-27, 25-20, 16-25, 16-14.

Adelle Greene paced Anthem Prep's offense, picking up 14 kills. Greene got some help from Peyton Pfefferkorn and her 14 assists. Pfefferkorn was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Among those leading the charge was Maddy Nicholson, who had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September.

Anthem Prep's loss ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-6. As for North Phoenix Preparatory Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Anthem Prep will face off against Salome at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Phoenix Preparatory Academy, they will be playing at home against The Gregory School at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
