While Long County didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They had just enough and edged out the Brantley County Herons 2-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 last Monday.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Long County who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 22-25, 15-10.

Long County's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Brantley County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Long County will challenge South Effingham at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brantley County, they will square off against Bryan County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
