            Baseball Recap: Coolidge Bears vs. Globe Tigers        
        
		
        
        
            Coolidge took a nine-run  defeat the last time they faced off against Globe, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bears came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers on Tuesday, sneaking past  6-5. This was a revenge game for the Bears: when they faced off against the Tigers  back in March, they had to take a  13-4  loss.

 Riley Hamilton was a major factor no matter where he played. He  struck out 11 batters over  6.2 innings while giving up  four earned  (and one unearned) runs off   nine  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Patrick Perez, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Coolidge's success: when he posts  at  least two  runs the team is 5-1 (and 1-10 when he doesn't).  Athyn Alphus was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
Coolidge's win  ended  a  three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 6-11. As for Globe, their defeat was  their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 8-10.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coolidge will host Valley Christian  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Bears will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last five matches. As for Globe, they will be playing at home against Palo Verde  at 3:45  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.15  runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
