Softball Recap: Triton Central Has No Trouble Against Morristown

While Triton Central put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Morristown. The Tigers put the hurt on the Yellow Jackets with a sharp 15-0 victory. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Yellow Jackets, too.

Brylie Couch was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Triton Central got a massive performance out of Madison Collins, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Collins has posted since back in April. Marissa Williams also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Triton Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive contests.

Triton Central's record now sits at 12-2. As for Morristown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, Triton Central and Morristown will both be playing Waldron the next time they take the field. The Tigers will head out to face the Mohawks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Yellow Jackets will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
