Softball Recap: Springtown Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Springtown can now relate to. They came up short against the West Plains Wolves on Friday, falling 7-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 on Thursday.

Jayci Notgrass was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Springtown saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Falcon, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

This is the second loss in a row for Springtown and nudges their season record down to 24-12. As for West Plains, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 26-11.

As of now, neither Springtown nor the Wolves have any future games scheduled.
