Milan was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Jackson Christian Eagles 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Eagles back in March, they had to take a 5-4 defeat.

Milan saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Judson (Jp) Scott also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Milan and bumps their season record up to 11-6-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Jackson Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.

Coming up, Milan will challenge Camden Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Jackson Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Westview on the 11th.
