Softball Recap: Edina Find Success

Edina proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 15) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Wayzata Trojans 4-2. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Ella Meyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kenzie Cox, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last ten matches.

Edina's record now sits at 9-7. As for Wayzata, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edina will host Hastings at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wayzata, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Osseo at 7:00 p.m. The Trojans are facing the Orioles at the right time seeing as the Orioles are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
