Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mayfield). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Christian Fellowship Eagles a 22-0 shutout on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.

Jett Hawkins was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Kyler Simpson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple.

Mayfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mayfield's victory bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Christian Fellowship, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
