Football Game Preview: Trinity Christian School of Griffin LIONS vs. Peachtree Academy Panthers

The Trinity Christian School of Griffin LIONS will head out to square off against the Peachtree Academy Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Trinity Christian School of Griffin's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Holy Ground Baptist Academy 44-0. Considering the LIONS have won four games by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Brayden Yancey had a dynamite game, picking up 124 receiving yards and a pair of scores. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 73 yards.

Another reason for the win was Trinity Christian School of Griffin's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as five different players picked up one apiece. Cooper Lewis was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Peachtree Academy). They blew past Covington Academy 53-18 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Trinity Christian School of Griffin's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Peachtree Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Everything came up roses for Trinity Christian School of Griffin against Peachtree Academy when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 52-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the LIONS since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
