Basketball Recap: Cordova Comes Up Short

Cordova lost against Valdez back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cordova Wolverines fell 59-49 to the Valdez Buccaneers. That's two games in a row now that the Wolverines have lost by exactly ten points.

This is the second loss in a row for Cordova and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for Valdez, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-6.

Coming up, Cordova will square off against Unalakleet on Thursday. As for Valdez, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Barrow at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Valdez knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matches -- so hopefully Barrow likes a good challenge.
