Weimar hadn't done well against Schulenburg recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Wildcats walked away with a 3-1 win over the Shorthorns. The victory was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on six straight.

Weimar had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-14.

Despite the loss, Schulenburg saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jenna Guentert had 28 digs and one assist.

Weimar's win bumped their record up to 18-10. As for Schulenburg, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven matches and leaves them with a 25-13 record.

Looking ahead, Weimar will square off against Ganado at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Schulenburg, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Flatonia on the 7th.
