Volleyball Recap: Viborg/Hurley Comes Up Short

Viborg/Hurley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Irene/Wakonda Eagles. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Eagles when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Viborg/Hurley had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-21, 20-25, 25-19.

Irene/Wakonda found their leader in freshman Emily Oien, who had 12 digs and one assist.

Viborg/Hurley's record is now 5-20. As for Irene/Wakonda, their victory bumped their record up to 8-15.

Looking ahead, Viborg/Hurley will take on Hanson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Irene/Wakonda, they will face off against Howard at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
