Football Recap: South Columbus Stallions vs. East Bladen Eagles

South Columbus proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 64) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 25-22 win over the East Bladen Eagles. For the Stallions, this counts as revenge for the 40-15 defeat the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2023.

South Columbus wouldn't let East Bladen keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. South Columbus can thank Shiroski Myers and Rush Blackwell for forcing all of them.

East Bladen lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kewone Maynor, who rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Another receiver making a difference was Malikah Moore, who picked up 128 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

South Columbus' victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for East Bladen, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Columbus will take on Pender at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Bladen, their road trip will continue as they head out to face East Columbus at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. East Bladen is facing East Columbus at the right time seeing as East Columbus is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
