Baseball Game Preview: Milford Tigers vs. Enterprise Wolves

For the second straight game, Milford will face off against Enterprise. The Tigers will head out to square off against the Wolves at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Milford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.

Milford is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Enterprise just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 12-3 to the Wolves.

For Enterprise's part, Eric Phelps made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over 5.2 innings pitched. Phelps has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Treyson Whitman, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Staheli, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Enterprise kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Milford only managed two hits.

The victory made it two in a row for Enterprise and bumps their season record up to 11-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Milford, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Milford has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .441. However, it's not like Enterprise struggles in that department as they've averaged .448. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
