Baseball Game Preview: Tippecanoe Red Devils vs. Ross Rams

The Tippecanoe Red Devils will face off against the Ross Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Tippecanoe is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Tippecanoe is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let Piqua get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. Considering the Red Devils have won 17 matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Cayden McKinney made a big impact no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 12 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Preston Zumwalt, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Bryce Eckert was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Tippecanoe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Piqua only posted a batting average of .000.

Meanwhile, Ross was able to grind out a solid victory over Turpin on Wednesday, taking the game 6-1.

Ross has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Tippecanoe, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-3.
