Football Game Preview: Rockford East E-Rabs vs. Guilford Vikings

The Rockford East E-Rabs will take on the Guilford Vikings at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Rockford East has struggled recently with 11 defeats in a row, while Guilford will arrive with six straight victories.

Rockford East came up short against Harlem on Thursday, falling 49-24. While losing is never fun, the E-Rabs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 388th, while the Huskies are ranked 138th).

Despite the loss, Rockford East saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jarrid Quist rushed for 128 yards.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Guilford over Freeport in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 35-12 margin over the Pretzels. Considering the Vikings have won three matchups by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Guilford's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Rockford East, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
