Baseball Recap: Johnsburg Wins Going Away Against Alden-Hebron

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Johnsburg). They blew past the Alden-Hebron Green Giants 19-1 on Monday. The Skyhawks not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 11, 2024.

Nate Frost was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Frost was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Dom Vallone was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those runs were his first of the season. Ahston Stern was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

Johnsburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Johnsburg now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Alden-Hebron, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Johnsburg will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Marian Central Catholic at 6:30 p.m. Johnsburg is facing Marian Central Catholic at the right time seeing as Marian Central Catholic is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Alden-Hebron, they will face off against Ashton-Franklin Center at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Alden-Hebron's pitchers better be ready for this one: Ashton-Franklin Center has averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season.
