Volleyball Recap: Pebble Hills Spartans vs. Montwood Rams
Pebble Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Montwood Rams, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.
Pebble Hills took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-16, 25-18.
Kylah Dickerson paced Pebble Hills' offense, picking up eight kills. Dickerson got some help from Raelyn Shaver and her 22 assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Montwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabriela Garay, who had 13 assists and five digs. Raelyn Reyes also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Pebble Hills suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 7-15. As for Montwood, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 20-5.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pebble Hills will face off against rival Eastwood at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Montwood is set to square off against their familiar foe Coronado at 6:40 p.m. on Friday.
