Pittsburg is 1-9 against Liberty since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Pirates will welcome the Lions at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with five losses in a row, Pittsburg turned things around against Antioch on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Panthers 3-2.
Pittsburg wouldn't go down easily and took Antioch into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-15, 20-25, 22-25, 15-9.

Pittsburg found their leader in sophomore Kryztigale Guartero, who had 17 digs and five aces. Those 17 digs set a new season-high mark for Guartero.
Pittsburg was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 21 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Liberty got the win against Emerald on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.
The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 26-24, 26-24.
Pittsburg better focus on containing Siena Ahlrich and Ashlyn Cruz as the pair were huge in Liberty's win. Ahlrich had 21 digs and three aces, while Cruz had four digs and three aces. That's the most digs Cruz has posted over her last two matches.
Liberty's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Pittsburg, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-15.
