Softball Recap: Myrtle's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Myrtle had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They beat the Vardaman Rams on Thursday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 18-3. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won 18 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Myrtle and bumps their season record up to 20-5. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Vardaman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-12-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Myrtle beat the Rams by a score of 8-1 on Friday.
