Basketball Game Preview: East Butler Tigers vs. Twin River Titans

The East Butler Tigers will challenge the Twin River Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. East Butler has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.

Twin River is facing East Butler at the wrong time: East Butler suffered their first home loss of the season on Saturday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell just short of the Blujays by a score of 50-47.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Lillie Kriz, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 boards. Those 21 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Havlovic, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.

Even though they lost, East Butler smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in ten consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Twin River). They blew past Neligh-Oakdale 55-24 on Saturday. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 21 points or more this season.

Twin River now has a winning record of 4-3. As for East Butler, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-4.

East Butler beat Twin River 50-43 in their previous meeting back in February of 2021. Will East Butler repeat their success, or does Twin River have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
