Recap: Norcross Blue Devils vs. North Gwinnett Bulldogs
After a string of seven wins, the Norcross Blue Devils's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 51-41 to North Gwinnett. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (35), Norcross still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Norcross still got an impressive performance from Arrington (aj) Watkins, who rushed for 280 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also picked up 121 receiving yards and a touchdown. Watkins' longest rush was for an incredible 86 yards. Jamari Harrold also helped out as he racked up 121 receiving yards.
Leading North Gwinnett to victory were Julian Walters and Ryan Hall. Walters rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns, while Hall rushed for 72 yards and three touchdowns.
Norcross' loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for North Gwinnett, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Norcross will be playing at home against Denmark at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Denmark will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 138th, while Norcross is ranked 26th). As for North Gwinnett, they will square off against West Forsyth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Forsyth is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
