Softball Recap: Irvin Comes Up Short

Irvin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Austin Panthers, falling 14-2. The Rockets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Irvin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aleena Flores, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Irvin's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Austin, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-11.

Coming up, Irvin will take on Ysleta at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Irvin's pitchers better be ready for this one: Ysleta has averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. As for Austin, they will be playing at home against Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Austin will need to watch out since Riverside has now posted at least ten runs in their last six contests.
